Many people know Babelsberg because of the Babelsberg Castle and its park or the film city with the Babelsberg studios, where films are still produced. The villa colony, which was only built in the 19th century, became a hotspot of history, especially in 1945. The participants of the Potsdam Conference, Churchill, Stalin and Truman were accommodated there. The "Big Three" and their ministers stayed here in villas specially built for this purpose. For a short time, the city became a closely guarded centre of world politics. The eventful history of the villas from the Wilhelminian period to reunification on the later border between East and West, and the fate of their owners becomes visible in this guided tour.
Afterwards, you can visit the newly opened exhibition on the Potsdam Conference at Schloss Cecilienhof.
The tour through Babelsberg can be started as a walk from S-Bhf. Griebnitzsee or from Berlin by car, van or bus.
